Our Favorite Coffee Shops in Salt Lake City
One of the best parts of traveling is discovering great local coffee. Whether you've just landed at Salt Lake City International Airport, are waiting for hotel check-in, or simply exploring the city, a great cup of coffee can make your day even better.
As locals and coffee lovers, we've spent plenty of time searching for the best coffee shops in Salt Lake City. While there are a lot of great options, these are the places we find ourselves returning to again and again.
1. Alpha Coffee – Home of the Nutty Buddy Nitro
If you're looking for a coffee that's as memorable as it is delicious, head to Alpha Coffee and order the Nitro and be prepared to "zingggg!" A word of warning: this drink packs a serious caffeine punch. If you're sensitive to caffeine, proceed with caution.
Smooth, creamy, and packed with flavor, it's one of those drinks you'll find yourself thinking about long after you've finished it. The nitro cold brew creates a rich texture, while the Nutty Buddy flavors provide the perfect balance without being overly sweet.
2. Loki Coffee – For the Coffee Purist
When we're in the mood to slow down and truly appreciate coffee, Loki Coffee is our go-to destination.
Single-origin pour-overs are not common it Utah and these guys do a great job. Each cup highlights the unique flavors of the beans and showcases the craft behind specialty coffee. This isn't the place to rush through your morning. It's the place to sit down, enjoy the process, and experience coffee the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
3. Coffee Garden – An SLC Original
Some places never go out of style.
Coffee Garden has been a Salt Lake City institution for years and remains one of our favorite coffee shops in Utah. Their cold brew is consistently excellent, not super expensive, and the atmosphere is everything we love about a neighborhood coffee shop—comfortable, welcoming, and never trying too hard.
Fun fact: one of Bringit's founders worked at Coffee Garden in her twenties. After moving away and eventually returning to Utah, Coffee Garden is still her favorite coffee shop.
4. Coffee at Ten – For Matcha Lovers and Minimalists
If you're looking for authentic matcha, Coffee at Ten is hands down our favorite.
Located just south of downtown Salt Lake City, Coffee at Ten is in a beautifully designed space that feels clean, modern, and intentionally minimalist.
As fans of minimalist design, this is one of our favorite places to spend a slow morning. The atmosphere is calming, the aesthetic is beautiful, and every detail feels thoughtfully considered.
But let's talk about the matcha.
Unlike many matcha drinks that are loaded with sugar and syrups, Coffee at Ten focuses on the quality of the matcha itself. The result is a rich, smooth, authentic matcha experience that stands apart from the overly sweet versions you'll find elsewhere.
5. Best Latte in Salt Lake City? We'll Let You Decide
This may surprise you, but we're not going to crown a winner here. The truth is, latte drinkers are passionate people. Everyone seems to have a favorite spot, and opinions vary wildly depending on how strong you like your espresso, how much milk you prefer, and whether you're ordering traditional dairy or an alternative milk.
Since we don't drink enough lattes to confidently declare a champion, we'll leave this one up to you.
